A big thank you goes out to the 115 parents who completed the school survey (77 in paper, 38 online). We received a lot of very useful feedback that will help in thinking about ways to keep improving our school.

Here are a few key findings:

  • 89% of parents taking the survey said they feel that students individuality is respected at school
  • 89% of parents taking the survey said that Jackson Street provides ways for parents/guardians to get involved, have opinions heard & work together to educate children
The top 3 things that people said they liked or appreciated:
  1. Teachers (86% of parents taking the survey checked this)
  2. School values (85% of parents taking the survey checked this)
  3. Diversity (82% of parents taking the survey checked this)
The top 3 things that people said they would like to change:
  1. Curriculum (27% of parents taking the survey checked this)
  2. Academic Standards (25% of parents taking the survey checked this)
  3. Family and Teacher Communication (24% of parents taking the survey checked this)
Also worthy of note, 10 parents wrote in that they wish their children had more active or outdoor time, the most common comment on this question.

Thank you again everyone for your feedback, and please download the attached pdf file if you would like to see more results.

As always, we welcome your further input. Please contact Ms. Agna, Liz Horn the volunteer coordinator, the school council, or PTO members, if you have other ideas or thoughts to share.
